Todd honors USJ soccer, updates I-40 repaving

District 73 State Representative Chris Todd (Republican-Madison County) was at University School of Jackson on Tuesday to read a state proclamation honoring the school’s girls’ soccer team that won the Division II-A state championship last fall.

“While what happened in Chattanooga last fall was great, this isn’t just an honor of what happened there in one weekend,” said USJ Headmaster Don Roe. “This is the celebration of months of work in the summer and early morning practices and all the sacrifice these young ladies and their parents made to give them the opportunity to compete for a state championship.”

It’s been 10 years since Paul Conway was hired to take over the soccer program at USJ after successful stints coaching at Lambuth and directing a travel organization, but he admitted he was glad to get the monkey off his back of winning the final game of the season .
