788 Wins, 19 SEC Titles, 6 National Championships

Georgia head coach Jeff Wallace is now in his 37th year at the helm of the Bulldogs’ tennis program. As the nation’s winningest active women’s tennis coach, Wallace is one of only two coaches to record 750 wins in women’s tennis history. Wallace entered the 2022 dual season with 773 career victories.

Fantastic Freshmen

Freshman Mell Reasco has posted a team-high 22-8 mark this season. Reasco, a native of Quito, Ecuador, is 10-5 this dual season and is tied for a team-high seven wins versus ranked opponents.

Since arriving this January, freshman Dasha Vidmanova is 15-3 – team-best dual record. Vidmanova, a native of Prague, Czech Republic, is 8-2 in her previous 10-matches and has amassed a 7-3 record versus ranked opponents. She is 14-2 in straight set matches this season.

Road Dawgs

10th-ranked Georgia is a perfect 6-0 on the road this season, picking up wins over No. 15 Florida, No. 27 Tennessee, no. 28 Georgia Tech, No. 32 Arkansas, No. 59 South Carolina and Missouri.

Dawgs in the Rankings

No. Georgia boasts seven rankings: A quartet of individuals, no. 25 Ma, No. 29 Reasco, no. 66 Vidmanova and No. 108 Kowalski; a pair of doubles teams in No. 15 Coppoc and Hertel, and No. 45 Reasco and Vidmanova.

In the fall, the ITA also ranks the Top-10 Freshman / Newcomer, Reasco came in at No. 4.

Scouting the Crimson Tide

No. 45 Alabama is coming off a pair of road losses to No. 15 Florida and South Carolina. The Crimson Tide are 14-9, 4-7 in SEC play on the season.

Alabama owns two rankings in No. 87 Petra Sedlackova and No. 90 Loudmilla Bencheikh.

Scouting the Tigers

No. 13 Auburn will travel to Tennessee on Friday, April 15 before taking on the Bulldogs. The Tigers went 1-1 last weekend, defeating No. 15 Florida 6-1 before falling to South Carolina 4-3. Auburn is 18-4, 9-2 in SEC on the season.

The Tigers have four rankings in No. 35 Selin Ovunc, no. 68 Ariana Arseneault and No. 107 Carolyn Ansari; on doubles team in No. 16 Ariana Arseneault and Selin Ovunc.

SEC Tournament

The 2022 SEC Women’s Tennis Tournament will be Wednesday, April 20 through Sunday, April 24 in Gainesville, Florida.
